Democrats guiding the impeachment drive have been torn between wanting swift justice over Jan. 6’s attack on the U.S. Capitol, and allowing the new Biden administration more time for Cabinet nominees’ confirmations. Republican leaders have urged some delay in a trial to allow former President Donald Trump to prepare his case. In the end, the two sides seem to have worked out their differences on the matter.
